In the illustrated book »Idyllic Eisenstadt«, Thomas Sailer wants to show what he appreciates so much about his hometown. The book is intended to focus on the idyllic value of Eisenstadt and in this way increase the appreciation for the idyllic character and everything that makes it special.

In addition, the illustrated book should preserve impressions and be a contemporary historical document. This is of particular interest when it comes to the supposedly inconspicuous places in Eisenstadt, which are otherwise rarely photographed, but make a significant contribution to Eisenstadt's idyll.

The Origin

Thomas Sailer had the idea for this illustrated book in 2022, while walking through dreamy residential streets in Eisenstadt in early summer.

He then went on several photo tours, during which around 1,200 photographs of Eisenstadt street scenes were taken.

The illustrated book was designed in winter 2022/23; it was published in spring 2023.
